Reasonable student freedom is a right, not a privilege🥀
What we want:
Last year at Randolph was peak. The staff keeps fights from happening, we had double electives and the school was neither too stricken nor too chaotic, it was great. This years changes have not brought the same improvement. No Chromebook Thursday is tolerable so I wont fight what doesn't effect us too much, but these new rules and expectation that have been brought forward are quite harshly impactful. I mean no disrespect to Randolph as a school, but I think I can speak for the whole school when saying the new expectations of being complete silent during transition or else face suspension are a bit unwarranted and disproportioned. Their are more just ways to control chaotic halls during transition and people abusing the old bathroom system that are easier on the student body. (In the near future there will be a section for suggestions for alternative systems to fix these problems) while I do admire the Randolph staff being able to put the foot down on negative student behavior, but the new rules take most of, if not all remanding freedom in-between classes that we students get excluding lunch and HAC. All we ask is that we can have more flexibility. the changes the staff made, I wont denied were because of a good reason non the less. But please, hear us out and thank you for reading. - An 8th grader who would like to stay anonymous. (Sorry for the unprofessional website design, I am simply trying to resonate with fellow peers.)
Disclaimer: We have no mean to criticize the school and we respect Randolph. We are just peacefully expressing our thoughts about the new rules and why we disagree with the expectations brought on us.
